TC - What to pack
TEAM CANADA – PACKING FOR YOUR TRAVEL
Please read the following information carefully to ensure you have all required items prepared before travelling with Roller Hockey Canada – Team Canada.
International events require careful preparation, and athletes are responsible for arriving with all necessary equipment and personal items. Please do not assume items will be available for purchase once you arrive at the tournament location.
HOCKEY EQUIPMENT
Please ensure you pack the following:
☐ Black helmet
☐ Hockey gloves (please avoid conflicting colours — preferred colours are black, red, white, or combinations that match the Team Canada uniforms)
☐ Tryout/practice jersey (if you do not have one, please bring a black or red jersey)
☐ Extra wheels and bearings (please have at least one spare set available in your bag)
☐ Stick tape
☐ Sock tape
☐ Skate tools / equipment tools required for adjustments
☐ Any personal skate or equipment items you may require
Important: Do not assume replacement equipment or supplies will be available at the event. Come prepared.
Roller Hockey Canada staff will provide information regarding the distribution of player packages, uniforms, and team apparel approximately a couple of weeks prior to departure.
CLOTHING & TEAM APPAREL
Players will receive a Team Canada apparel package. Details regarding distribution will be communicated before departure.
In addition to your team gear, athletes should pack the following:
Men & Junior Men
☐ Black dress pants
☐ Khaki or beige golf shorts
☐ Black golf shorts
☐ Black dress shoes
All Athletes
☐ Black sandals, flip flops, or slides
☐ Running shoes
Women
☐ Black bottoms
☐ Khaki or beige bottoms
A Team Canada dress code will be communicated prior to the event for team activities, ceremonies, and official appearances.
For opening ceremonies and official team events, athletes will wear their designated Team Canada apparel with appropriate bottoms as communicated by staff.
If you choose to wear a hat during official team activities, it must be the approved Team Canada hat provided through the program.
OTHER IMPORTANT ITEMS
☐ Valid Canadian passport
☐ Visa (if required for the destination country)
☐ Personal toiletries
☐ Phone chargers and electronics
☐ International outlet adapter and/or voltage converter (plug types vary around the world)
☐ Any required medications
If you are taking medication, please ensure you have appropriate documentation, including any required medical exemption information, and keep copies with your travel documents and hockey equipment.
TRAVEL & HEALTH INSURANCE
All athletes must ensure they have proper travel and health insurance coverage before leaving Canada.
Roller Hockey Canada will provide applicable coverage related to participation in inline hockey activities; however, athletes and families are responsible for arranging personal travel insurance that covers international travel, medical needs, and unexpected travel situations.
If your travel insurance is not provided through a credit card, employer, or personal policy, you will need to purchase coverage prior to departure.
Please prepare:
☐ Two copies of your travel insurance documents
☐ One copy to keep with you
☐ One copy to provide to Team Canada staff
REPRESENTING CANADA
Athletes travelling with Team Canada are representing more than just themselves. You are representing your province, your community, Roller Hockey Canada, and the sport of inline hockey across the country.
Come prepared, be organized, and be ready to represent Canada with pride on and off the rink. 🇨🇦🏒
IMPORTANT PACKING TIP
When packing for travel, please place your Team Canada jerseys and pants in your carry-on luggage.
In the event your checked baggage is delayed or lost, we may be able to assist with replacing personal items, but tournament uniforms and official team gear may not be available immediately. Having your game equipment with you helps ensure you are ready to compete.
