INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS

Travel & Medical Insurance

Roller Hockey Canada provides insurance coverage for sanctioned hockey activities during official program participation.

However, all players and families are responsible for obtaining their own travel and health insurance coverage for the duration of the trip.

This coverage may be available through:

  • Personal insurance providers
  • Employer benefit plans
  • Credit card travel insurance programs
  • Independent travel insurance providers
Required Documentation

Please bring:

☐ One copy for personal use

☐ One copy to provide to team staff along with required medical forms

Having this information readily available can significantly assist in the event of a medical emergency.

OPTIONAL EXTRAS

Many players enjoy bringing small Canadian items to share or trade with players from other regions and countries.

Ideas include:

☐ Canada pins

☐ Small souvenirs

☐ Team stickers

☐ Canadian-themed items

Local Members of Parliament may occasionally have Canada pins available, and dollar stores are often a great source for inexpensive souvenirs.

MOST IMPORTANT TRAVEL TIP

PACK YOUR JERSEYS & HOCKEY PANTS IN YOUR CARRY-ON BAG

This is one of the most important travel recommendations we can make.

Checked luggage can occasionally be delayed or misplaced.

While some hockey equipment can potentially be replaced, tournament uniforms often cannot.

Carry-On Bag Checklist

☐ Team jerseys

☐ Team hockey pants

☐ Passport

☐ Travel insurance information

☐ Any critical medications

Keeping these essential items with you helps ensure you are prepared to compete even if checked luggage experiences delays.

Before leaving for the airport, confirm you have:

☐ Medications

☐ Team apparel

☐ Chargers and electronics

☐ Spending money

☐ Positive attitude and team-first mindset
